OPIS
CZEŚĆ I - INDIE
Niedługo po ślubie Nandini i Yash Raichand (Jaya i Amitabh Bachchan) przygarniają, a wkrótce adoptują małego Rahula (Shah Rukh Khan). Chłopiec staje się oczkiem w głowie matki. Cała rodzina traktuje go jak rodzonego syna. Nawet Rohan (Hrithik Roshan), młodszy brat, nie dowiaduje się nigdy prawdy o pochodzeniu Rahula. Szczęśliwe dzieciństwo i rodzinna idylla nie znają granic...
Po studiach w Londynie Rahul wraca do Indii, by przejąć rodzinne imperium Raichandów. Po wielu latach ponownie spotyka swoją młodzieńczą miłość Nainę. Rodzina Raichandów traktuje ją jak córkę. W trosce o odpowiednie zabezpieczenie fortuny Yash postanawia, że młodzi powinni się pobrać. Jednak Rahul nic nie wie o planach ojca.
Pewnego dnia, podczas przejażdżki po Chandini Chowk, jednej z biedniejszych dzielnic Delhi, Rahul spotyka piękną i przekorną Anjali (Kajol), jak się okazuje, siostrzenicę gospodyni domu Raichandów. Dziewczyna nie wiedząc, z kim ma do czynienia, żartuje sobie z Rahula nie okazując mu należnego szacunku. Zafascynowany jej pięknem, poczuciem humoru i spontanicznością, Rahul zakochuje się od pierwszego wejrzenia.
Wkrótce potem Yash oznajmia synowi, że przygotowania do ślubu z Nainą trwają w najlepsze. Zmieszany, Rahul wyjawia ojcu swą miłość do Anjali. Yash jednak nie zamierza tolerować związku syna z dziewczyną z niższych sfer. Żąda lojalności wobec siebie i rodzinnej tradycji. Rozdarty między posłuszeństwem wobec ojca i miłością do dziewczyny, Rahul podejmuje brzemienną w skutki decyzję: stawia miłość ponad rodzinę. Młodzi pobierają się w tajemnicy.
Prosząc o przebaczenie i błogosławieństwo, Rahul wraca do ojca. Ten jednak wyrzeka się go. Rozpaczliwe próby matki, by ich pogodzić, nie udają się. Yash zostaje ze złamanym sercem, a upokorzony Rahul wyjeżdża z Indii wraz z Anjali.
Młodszy brat Rahula, Rohan, przebywa w tym czasie w internacie. Nic nie wie o nagłym wyjeździe Rahula. Po latach Rohan wraca do domu, jednak na każdym kroku widzi chłód i samotność rodziców. Matka odsunęła się od ojca i usycha z tęsknoty za Rahulem. Gdy Rohan wreszcie dowiaduje się prawdy, postanawia natychmiast ruszyć na poszukiwanie brata. Tylko tak może uratować rodzinę.
CZEŚĆ II - LONDYN
Rohan w poszukiwaniu brata trafia do Londynu, gdzie spotyka młodszą siostrę Anjali ? Pooję (Kareena Kapoor). Pooja od razu oferuje mu pomoc i pomaga mu odszukać Rahula. Pod fałszywym imieniem, udając studenta szukającego pokoju, Rohan wprowadza się do rodziny brata.
Rahul nie rozpoznaje dorosłego w międzyczasie brata i traktuje go początkowo z pewną niechęcią. Jednak Rohan coraz lepiej wpasowuje się w rodzinę, a po jakimś czasie i w Rahulu odżywa pamięć o Indiach i rodzicach. Gdy tajemnicy wychodzi na jaw, Anjali i Rahul wprost szaleją ze szczęścia. Niestety wkrótce odżywają dawne urazy. Rahul nie daje się namówić do powrotu. Upokorzenie było zbyt silne.
Rohan nie poddaje się jednak i z pomocą Pooji aranżuje rodzinne spotkanie. Pod zmyślonym pretekstem ściąga rodziców do Londynu. Niby przypadkiem, wszyscy spotykają się w centrum handlowym. Ale tylko matka nie może powstrzymać radości, ojciec jest pełen rezerwy. Wciąż jeszcze nie potrafi przełamać swych sztywnych przekonań i wybaczyć synowi. Rozzłoszczony wraca do Indii.
Niedługo potem, śmierć babci jest okazją do ponownego spotkania. Jednak dopiero, gdy Nandini grozi Yashowi i wini męża za swe cierpienia, dochodzi do szczerej rozmowy ojca z synem. W końcu oboje się przełamują i rodzina zostaje szczęśliwie pojednana.

DESCRIPTION
PART I - INDIA
Shortly after the wedding Nandini and Yash Raichand ( Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya ) hug , and soon adopt a little Rahul ( Shah Rukh Khan ) . The boy becomes the apple of her mother's . The whole family treats him like a real son . Even Rohan ( Hrithik Roshan ) , the younger brother , is not never learns the truth about the origin of Rahul . Happy childhood and family idyll know no boundaries ...
After studying in London Rahul returns to India to take over the family empire Raichandów . After many years of re- encounters his youthful love Naina . Family Raichandów treats her like a daughter. For the sake of adequate collateral fortune Yash decides that the young should be married. But Rahul does not know anything about his father's plans .
One day, while riding in the Chandini Chowk , one of the poorer districts of Delhi, Rahul meets a beautiful and perverse Anjali ( Kajol ) , as it turns out , the housekeeper 's niece Raichandów . The girl did not know with whom he was dealing , jokes with Rahul not showing him proper respect . Fascinated by her beauty, sense of humor and spontaneity , Rahul falls in love at first sight.
Soon after Yash tells his son that the preparations for the wedding of Nain in progress at best. Confused , Rahul 's father reveals his love for Anjali . Yash , however, is not going to tolerate son relationship with a girl from the lower classes . He demands loyalty to each other and the family tradition . Torn between obedience to his father and love for the girl , Rahul take the fateful decision : puts love over family. Young people get married in secret.
Asking for forgiveness and blessing , Rahul goes back to his father . This , however, renounces it . Mother's desperate attempt to reconcile them , do not go . Yash is heartbroken and humiliated Rahul leaves from India along with Anjali .
The younger brother Rahul , Rohan , is staying at the time in the dormitory . I do not know about the sudden departure of Rahul . After years of Rohan returns home , but at every step sees the coldness and loneliness parents. Mother pulled away from his father and pines for Rahul . When Rohan finally learns the truth , he decides to immediately move in search of his brother. Only in this way can save a family.
PART II - LONDON
