La puerta aparentemente conecta a Japón con otro mundo, un mundo con un Imperio Militarista y muchas criaturas sobrenaturales. Las Fuerzas de Autodefensa de Japón decidieron enviar a un pequeño grupo, liderado por un soldado que resulto ser un Otaku, hacia el otro mundo en una misión de reconocimiento.
