This film is a documentary over Thorium
Nuclear Energy which has been proposed by some people to be the Unlimited Safe Nuclear Fuel and the Green answer to the
worlds energy requirements. Thorium, is a naturally occurring radioactive element, four times more abundant than uranium
in the earth's crust. Thorium is 250 times more efficient than uranium at producing energy. Thorium is much, much more
safer than Uranium. Why is Thorium Safer Than Uranium? Thorium has a Billion year half life and this is GOOD in fact it
is GREAT because it means it takes a long, long time to release it's radiation so therefore very low amounts are
released over a long time... compared to Uranium which has a lower half life and is therefore more dangerous because it
releases more radiation over a shorter time period... Get It?                                                        

This film spends a good deal of time discussing the problems inherent in nuclear power as it exists today. So
all you anti-nuclear people out there will find some good ammunition against the existing Nuclear industry. However you
may find some of your prejudices are convincingly challenged and you might even (gasp) find yourself changing your mind
about certain nuclear energy.

It explains how the decision to use uranium fuel for power generation reactors
was originally made due to the wealth of experience gained in the weapons program. Thorium was studied and found
unsuitable for nuclear weapons, therefore all the research & development effort went into uranium technology
weapons.

When the time came for civil nuclear power generation, uranium based fuels were chosen because
that's was what everyone already knew how to do.

This film suggests that was an unfortunate decision. Uranium
fuels dictated a certain type of reactor design, which unavoidably came with all the familiar problems. Those same
problems have now been demonstrated so convincingly, over years of experience with these uranium reactors.

It
suggests that thorium reactors can be engineered differently, diminishing or eliminating many of the problems which are
inherent with uranium fuel. These advantages are not only in reactor design and operation, but also in access and
availability of fuel, all the way through to the waste disposal required.

The underlying science is well
explained, and goes into enough detail that you actually learn something useful. Whether you are convinced by the
argument, or not.

This film is a "must see" if you have an interest in nuclear power, or future
energy security. Of interest to both anti and pro Nuclear folks.

Currently India is the only country in the
world using Thorium Nuclear technology with two Power Stations and plans to build more reactors projecting to  meet as
much as 30% of its electrical demands through thorium by 2050.
